If the people you support are already in education or classes, SaorEd is a useful tool for additional learning material and support. It is particularly beneficial for people learning English as they can access resources through our A1-C1 style courses and learn at their own pace any time of day.
Frequently Asked Questions
What primary courses do you offer?
SaorEd is primarily being used for English classes and IT skills courses. Courses are not currently accredited, however learners can receive certificates to prove they are engaging in online courses. As this platform is still in the early phases of development, we intend to expand our catalogue of courses available in line with the needs of the community.
Is there a fee for organisations?
There is no fee for organisations who wish to avail of assistance on SaorEd, or offer it to the community they work with. Just get in touch to find out how we can help you!
I would like to volunteer for SaorEd, is this possible?
We don’t have any specific volunteer roles right now, however if you think you can spare some time to assist learners or develop learning material, please email k.mccarthy@doras.org
We don’t have access to laptops or strong WiFi, can we still use SaorEd?
Yes! SaorEd is hosted on Kiron which is optimised to function on mobile phones and in areas which have limited access to WiFi.
